U P D A T E N O T E
---------------------

This is an update/replacement for the original EvolveAI model(s).

*FIXES
------
Some have been made but as the models couldn't be viewed in ACM you couldn't see them.

*UPDATES
---------
A few changes have been made to the models as follows:

1. Full aircraft is now visible in ACM so no need for the painters out there to have a separate model for checking paints installed.
2. 3D slats have been added.
3. Rounder APU has been added.
4. Wing mounted landing lights now stay on until AI turns them off.
5. Super round engine intakes have been removed and some depth added to them.

Someone will soon point out that the polygon count has increased in these updated models. It has, but what effect will this have on your frame rates you ask? The short answer is none whatsoever. In fact, the new models showed a 5fps improvement in tests performed during development (see attached screenshot).

*Bugs
-----
Yes, one does exist. When I started reworking these models the updates were based off an old EvolveAI paint. The newer v5 paintkit has since been released which introduced much smaller leading edge slats. As a result of this, there will be a split second where the slats on any models using a v5 paintkit will be slightly out of place.

I have tried my hardest to ensure the models are fully compatible with the v5 paintkits and to the best of my knowledge that is the only issue.

------------
SPECIAL NOTE
------------

This is an AI aircraft and will NOT BE VISIBLE in the aircraft selection window in flight simulator. However if you want it to be visible in the aircraft selection window, you have to edit the "A32x.air" file with the program "AirEd" (available at AVSIM "aired.zip"), change "Aircraft Type" from "2" to "0".

I WILL GIVE NO SUPPORT IF YOU WANT FLY THIS AI AIRCRAFT!!

-------------------------
AN EVEN MORE SPECIAL NOTE
-------------------------

Although this update is fully backwards compatible with the EvolveAI releases, the names of textures will have to be changed or they will not display on the new models.
The process of renaming won't be that bad if you are installing this model for the first time, if you do however have the old EvolveAI models installed with a few hundred repaints it may be a good idea to download one of the following applications which can do a batch replacement of your texture names:

Bulk Rename Utility - http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Main_Intro.php

ReNamer - http://www.den4b.com/downloads.php?project=ReNamer

Texture name will need to be changed as follows:

EVOLVEAI_A319_CFM_T.bmp ----> DJC_A319_CFM_T.bmp
EVOLVEAI_A319_IAE_T.bmp ----> DJC_A319_IAE_T.bmp

-----------
NORMAL NOTE
-----------

This aircraft was designed specifically for use as an AI aircraft. As such, the primary design criteria were that it look good sitting at the gate, or as seen when landing from an aircraft waiting to take off.

This plane also uses 8 different LOD (levels of detail) models, which means that as the plane gets visually smaller; the model displayed becomes simpler and simpler, thus reducing the drag on your computer.

If you download a GMAX aircraft that is just gorgeous, but really chews up your frame rates when used as AI if several of them appear on the screen at once, the designer probably did not use the LOD feature, so the model is always 20,000 polygons no matter how far away from you it is.

FIRST TIME INSTALLATION:
------------------------

1) Just drop the "DJC_A319" folder into your FS2004 (FS9) aircraft folder.

2) Download a few liveries (textures) for it. (Available as separate downloads).
3) Copy the texture folder from the livery download into the "DJC_A319" folder (If the texture download precedes the date of this model then the texture name will need changing).

4) Copy the [fltsim.x] entry supplied with the livery into the aircraft.cfg file supplied in this base package. If the texture download precedes the date of this model then you will need to make sure the entry is linked to the correct air file, e.g. "sim=DJC_A32X"). Be sure to number them correctly, starting sequentially with [fltsim.0] and working your way up with each additional livery you add...e.g. [fltsim.0], [fltsim.1], [fltsim.2]...making sure not to skip or duplicate any numbers in the sequence.

5) Be sure when filling in your [fltsim.x] entries that you pay special attention to which model you need to use.

6) Then assign the aircraft to some flight plans and you're on your way.

------------
UPDATE ONLY:
------------

1) Drop the models from this package into the relevant model folders in your current A319 aircraft folder. For each new model, you will need to change the entry in the model.cfg file to match the new model name.

2) Rename any textures currently installed, the only difference to the names is the prefix, simply change "Evolveai" to "DJC".
